At a Special Council Meeting on May 17, the Addison City Council canvassed the May 7 City Council election and officially announced Al Angell, Jim Duffy and Paul Walden as the winners of a closely contested race.
During the meeting, Mayor Todd Meier thanked out-going Council Members Mary Carpenter, David Heape and Janelle Moore for their commitment and dedication to the Addison community.
New Council Members Jim Duffy and Paul Walden took their oaths and assumed their responsibilities immediately. Al Angell will be sworn in at the June 14 Council Meeting. The new Council’s first official action was to appoint Bruce Arfsten as Mayor Pro Tempore and Ivan Hughes as Deputy Mayor Pro Tempore.
The Addison Council is comprised of a Mayor and six members who are elected in at-large elections. Members are elected for two-year terms in alternating years. In Addison the Mayor and City Council may serve up to three successive terms
