Monthly Art Walk Kicks off June 2, 2016 in Addison Circle
Walks around Addison are common, as are the many special events that make Addison unique. What is unusual for Addison is what’s happening on June 2 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Addison Circle. On this date, Addison Circle will hold the first ongoing Art Walk in the city of Addison.
The Art Walk was inspired by Sue Richter, owner/operator of the SideWalk Café, A new Addison Circle business owner, Sue wanted to bring renewed attention to the wonderful people and amenities available in Addison Circle.
“I have a vibrant passion for art and the fabulous residents in the Addison Circle,” said Sue Richter. “As a resident and business owner, I wanted to find a way to bring awareness to this hidden gem. After meeting with several Addison Circle business owners and city officials the idea of the art walk was born.”
Beginning the first Thursday of June, from 6 pm – 8 pm, more than a dozen Addison Circle businesses will be displaying original art (many by local artists) at their establishments and offering complimentary beverages and small bites for patrons. Many pieces of art will be available for purchase and a portion of profit will benefit local nonprofits.
Each month new art will be displayed in participating art walk businesses. In addition, raffles and music will be part of the fun.
