At the May 24th City Council Meeting, the Council approved a development plan submitted by UDR that will make way for the redevelopment of the Brookhaven Village Shopping Center on Marsh Lane.
The proposed project requires the demolition of the KinderCare facility, as well as two of the existing buildings in the northern half of the retail center. The plan is to create a new center with a total of 86,310 square feet of retail, including the existing 60,000 square foot Tom Thumb, a new multi-tenant retail building of 17,500 square feet and three pad sites, two drive through restaurants and one gasoline service station for Tom Thumb. Tom Thumb will receive an exterior renovation that will tie it into the new look of the center.
Look for demolition to begin soon. Tom Thumb will remain open during the duration of construction!
